Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Quilter Companion at quiltercompanion.com (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Quilter Companion is a web-based quilt pattern design tool that provides an interactive grid editor, AI-powered pattern generation, and PDF export capabilities. The Service is offered in free and paid tiers as described on our Pricing page.

3. Accounts

You must sign in with a Google or GitHub account to save projects and use paid features. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You must not share your account or use another person's account without permission.

4. Subscriptions & Payments

Paid plans are billed monthly through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.

  • Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time through the billing portal. Access to paid features continues until the end of your current billing period.
  • Refunds: We offer refunds on a case-by-case basis. Contact us within 7 days of a charge if you believe a refund is warranted.
  • Price changes: We may change subscription prices with 30 days' notice. Existing subscribers will be notified before any price increase takes effect.
  • AI credits: Each plan includes a monthly allocation of AI generation credits. Unused credits do not roll over between billing periods.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service beyond normal use
  • Submit AI prompts intended to generate harmful, illegal, or abusive content
  • Resell or redistribute the Service without our written consent

6. Intellectual Property

Your Content

You retain ownership of the quilt designs and patterns you create using the Service. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store and process your content solely to provide the Service to you.

Our Content

The Service, including its design, code, block templates, and documentation, is owned by Quilter Companion and protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our software or block library.

AI-Generated Content

Patterns generated by the AI feature are created for your use. You may use, modify, and distribute AI-generated patterns for personal or commercial quilting purposes. We do not claim ownership of AI-generated output.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • AI-generated patterns will meet your specific requirements
  • Fabric yardage calculations are exact — always purchase extra fabric

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Quilter Companion shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason with reasonable notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. You may request export of your data before termination takes effect.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation or, if necessary, in the courts of the state where Quilter Companion operates.
