Quilter Companion ("we", "us", "our") operates the website quiltercompanion.com (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.
2. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you sign in via Google or GitHub OAuth, we receive your name, email address, and profile image from the identity provider. We do not receive or store your password.
Project Data
Quilt designs you create — including grid layouts, color palettes, block selections, and project names — are stored in our database so you can access them across devices.
Payment Information
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number. Stripe provides us with your subscription status, customer ID, and billing email.
AI Generation Data
When you use the AI pattern generator, your text prompts are sent to the Anthropic Claude API to generate quilt patterns. We store a record of the generation (prompt, style, and grid dimensions) for credit tracking. Anthropic's privacy policy governs their handling of your data.
Usage Analytics
We use Google Analytics to collect anonymous usage data such as page views, browser type, and general location. This data is aggregated and does not personally identify you. You can opt out using a browser extension.

- Stripe — payment processing
- Google & GitHub — authentication (OAuth)
- Anthropic — AI pattern generation
- Google Analytics — anonymous usage analytics
- DigitalOcean — hosting and database infrastructure
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights.
5. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on DigitalOcean managed infrastructure in the United States. All connections are encrypted via TLS/SSL. Database access is restricted to our application servers. We follow industry-standard security practices but cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account and project data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., payment records for tax purposes).
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to or restrict processing of your data
- Export your data in a portable format
